My 1st site that will hopefully change the world
My first world changing site:
I had a lot of different ideas to change the world, but I’d say one of my favorites was aimed towards the music industry, particularly live music and festivals. I’d like to actually start a website that allows music lovers to get online (& eventually we’re setting up computers ON SITE @ festivals) to:
-discuss the festivals, the line-ups, the venue, the extras,
-whether the festival was worth it for the ticket price,
-overall rating of the festival in comparison to others that are similar in size and budget,
-future festivals and shows,
-personal band promotion,
-networking for flyer/poster designers (graphic designers, etc.) to meet up with bands who need flyers/posters made,
-members of the band can get online and chat with their biggest fans, leave messages, send the band excellent pictures of them performing,
-there will be contests,
-give-aways; (such as the aerial photograph that we take the first day of the festival and distribute the second and third day),
-festival-goers can get on my website and actually vote for their favorite picture out of the five options we provide,
-Much, Much More to come
Your whole idea is great, but I especially like the idea regarding offering fans the ability to “send the band excellent pictures of them performing.” To actually bridge the gap between fan and musician (or in simpler terms, consumer and producer) so that the fan is offering something of value to the band could have tremendous implications for music marketing. Musicians receiving what amounts to free promotional material, fans thrilled to be noticed (while receiving publicity for their own talents)… it could theoretically turn one aspect of the media industry very, very democratic.
I am a bog fan of this idea. I am a huge music fan and festivals are of great interest to me. I am getting a little tired of hearing so many roomers about shows, line-ups, dates, etc. If there was a place where official comments and facts could be placed it would greatly cut down on miss-information. Because when you are talking about hundreds of dollars for a weekend show, it pays to have the right information.

I really like this idea. Music can have a profound effect on its listeners. This site sounds fun and interactive. Would your site be specific to only a certain genre? Or would it be open to others to comment and add stuff to. For example, I like Dave Matthews Band and country music – could I find concert information on both? Just somehting to think about!
is there really no other site out there already doing this?
